Parents are always welcome to assist teachers in classrooms as a parent helper. Parents can also volunteer their time in the library or school canteen. Other opportunities for involvement include assisting the class teacher with excursions or helping out with school sports. Please see your classroom teacher if you are willing to assist with the class program.
Parent Teacher Meetings
Parents are encouraged to discuss any concerns about their child’s progress with the class teacher. Parents wishing to meet with teachers are requested to make an appointment so that a suitable time can be arranged. Parents can ask for an appointment by sending a brief note with their child or by telephoning the school office and requesting an appointment.
At least two school assemblies are held each term. Parents and friends are most welcome to attend. The dates of the assemblies are published in the fortnightly newsletter.
All classes take turns in running an assembly and presenting an item at the assembly. Merit Awards are presented to students from each class at assemblies. Teachers endeavour to notify parents when their child will be receiving a merit award at the assembly.
From time to time parents may encounter difficulties or concerns. When this occurs parents are encouraged to endeavour to resolve the issue informally. It often helps to seek information or an explanation about your concern, or to speak directly to the person concerned.
Please contact the Principal or one of the Deputy Principals if you require assistance in clarifying an issue or if you wish to lodge a formal complaint.
